Today’s word is _languid_, thanks to my weird energy levels. I had a lovely walk from Kensington to Footiscray past the Chinese Temple / 天后宫 in the morning, but after that a strange tiredness overtook me. I could force myself to walk a bit and it felt ok, but every time I sat down on a train or a tram or a bus, I felt at risk of not being able to get up again. Having forced myself to Do Things until 4pm, I’ve showered and really am resting. No gym today, then. Bleh.

All that said, I appreciate the quietness of the city before 8am, the Really Quite Good Guy at the Good Guys this arvo who was helpful and patient with my questions about air conditioners, and the Cambodian Baguette place in South Preston that continues to make lovely food.

Walking the dogs I encountered this, well, let's call it an art installation, documenting one man's quest for understanding.

The questioning of the apparently main character, Brenda, spanned roughly a mile of sidewalk punctuated by the occasional glass shard pile that once was what appears to have been bottles of vodka.

I felt the need to document the effort. Scribbled on the sidewalk and a few concrete bridge pillars for at least a mile our would-be hero beseeched Brenda for answers about why she had strayed from their side to find another man and a few other things. Although it was harder to tell what was being expressed as the scribbles went on, particularly after multiple piles of broken glass.

A mile of chalk sad face emojis and calling out Brenda was quite the drama to watch unfold. To the writer, I hope they get therapy and Brenda might want to consider a restraining order

Weirdly, this is not a one-off. Are chalk fights common?
