Dom Planika pod Triglavom (2401m) is a mountain hut underneath Mount Triglav (2863m), the highest mountain of Slovenia and present on the national flag. It is the only hut where I've been, where there is no running water (not surprisingly so close under the summit and the rocky environment).

The first hut on this location was erected 1871. The current hut is from 1987 with the annex built in 1992.

Fascinating #folklore project: a #map of #folk tunes gathered by Oskar Kolberg, great ethnographer of 19th century, to listen and download. Mostly territories of Commonwealth of Both Nations (that is, today's #Poland, #Lithuania, #Belarus and #Ukraine), but also #Lusatia, #Slovakia, #Slovenia, #Croatia, #BosniaHerzegovina and #Serbia. Sadly, not linked to lyrics, music only, but still a delightful journey.

As Kolberg worked in 19th century, his works obviously do not contain recordings, but the map gives #MIDI, #MusicXML and #EsAC.

Soft candlelight from real candles illuminated the dim environment in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, the first Serbian Orthodox Church in Ljubljana Slovenia. The warm glow created a serene and contemplative atmosphere.

'Brexit Britain is being outstripped by Slovenia and Malta'

NIESR "has found that the poorest households in the UK are now worse off than the poorest in Slovenia and Malta."

"At the turn of the millennium, we had broadly similar wage levels to #Norway and #Canada, which has since outstripped us. We were well ahead of #NewZealand (which overtook UK wages in 2020) and #Slovenia (which is set to do so in the next few years)"

that would reward the nation if it outperforms certain environmental goals. Uruguay used a similar mechanism in 2022.

If Slovenia achieves a reduction of 2030 total annual greenhouse gas emissions by at least 45% compared to 2005, it would lower the coupon interest rate by about 10 to 15 basis points per year from 2033 until maturity
