@ai6yr @briankrebs OFC this targets #TechIlliterates and the only effective means here are:

  1. Teach #TechLiteracy instead of consumerism.
  2. Mandate #confirmation & #notification - #PopUp|s for every use of #Clipboard (similar to #webcam use by websites)...
  3. Ban #JavaScript - seriously!
  4. Ban #Windows, because it's a #Govware, espechally since #Windows10 and even more so on #Windows11 that is *insecure in every configuration!
  5. Put #TechIlliterates before a system they can't feck up. I.e. @tails_live @tails / #Tails for that reason alone (can't run such commands if they neither got #root nor any #persistent #storage to target).
  6. Normalize the use of @torproject #TorBrowser!
  7. #Teach #tech #literacy instead of #consumerism!
  8. Ban #GAFAMs and their shitty products!
  9. Migrate every #TechIlliterate to #Linux and don't give them administrative privilegues.

This post is generating a lot traffic on #DailyKos -- Dems keep asking for our support and cash, yet they aren't going to the mat for #Democracy or the working class! Every one of tRump's appointees should have been dragged through cloture votes, yet when you see Rubio getting 99 votes approving his appointment, that tells me some of the 45 democratic senators aren't listening or give a shit!

NatureFraming fact-checks as a “confirmation” increases engagement with corrections of misinformation: a four-country study - Scientific ReportsPrevious research has extensively investigated why users spread misinformation online, while less attention has been given to the motivations behind sharing fact-checks. This article reports a four-country survey experiment assessing the influence of confirmation and refutation frames on engagement with online fact-checks. Respondents randomly received semantically identical content, either affirming accurate information (“It is TRUE that p”) or refuting misinformation (“It is FALSE that not p”). Despite semantic equivalence, confirmation frames elicit higher engagement rates than refutation frames. Additionally, confirmation frames reduce self-reported negative emotions related to polarization. These findings are crucial for designing policy interventions aiming to amplify fact-check exposure and reduce affective polarization, particularly in critical areas such as health-related misinformation and harmful speech.
