I've been working at cleaning the calcium buildup of the tub all day. Limescale remover spray sat on here for hours in two passes. I scrubbed the bejeezus out of it several times. I rinsed it out and used a powdered cleanser for a while. Scrubbed the bejeezus out of that, too. Then I rinsed it all out thoroughly. Ended it with a vinegar and baking soda soak for more than an hour. Believe it or not, this is progress. This is the most limescale I've been able to remove in a few years.

I'm not sure how to get the rest. I obviously can't spend hours every day scrubbing this bathtub. It always looks filthy because of the scaling, even though I do clean it regularly.

Now I'm going to enjoy the fruits of my labour with a long soak. #limescale #HardWater #calcium #bathtub #cleaning #bath

The water in Kitchener is ridiculously hard. I clean my bathtub, but you'd never know it by looking at it. I've tried all sorts of cleaners. This is what it looks like after an hour or so soaking in hot vinegar. Several hours later, I used CLR. When that was all rinsed away, I used a powder cleaner that bartenders swear by. My tub still looks repulsive. I have no idea what to do aside from throw out the whole tub and get a new one. Seems wasteful and expensive. My tub looks like the filthy bathtubs of The Sims only without the flies. And yes, I have a water softener. #cleaning #bathtub #LimeScale #Bathroom #HardWater

Day#3 on tub remodel. Lethal fumes cleared from house overnight. Closing windows and pushing up the heat again to help it cure. Looks pretty good, though there are a couple of light spots and a little drip apparent in a corner. Acceptable but not perfect. Not dry enough to remove masking, started but stopped. No bubbles. #diy #bathtub #remodel

That went quick. Full vapor canister respirator absolutely required, and I did end up opening up a window to the cold world outside for some additional ventilation, with a fan pointed into this room (close it up for drying for the next few hours). Eyes started watering so I figured out more air needed.! Another coat between 4 and 6 hours required. #bathtub #remodeling

In 2019 I made a bathtub costume for my son, to fit over his wheelchair. We called it the Bathmobile, because it had working headlights and a license plate. It's made from discarded cardboard (a wardrobe box turns out to be the perfect size), frappuccino lids, tap lights, scrubbers, and rubber duck from the 99-cent store, and a lot of spray paint, foil tape, and duct tape. #wheelchaircostume #costume #bathtub #bubblebath #Halloween
