Shantell Powell<p>I've been working at cleaning the calcium buildup of the tub all day. Limescale remover spray sat on here for hours in two passes. I scrubbed the bejeezus out of it several times. I rinsed it out and used a powdered cleanser for a while. Scrubbed the bejeezus out of that, too. Then I rinsed it all out thoroughly. Ended it with a vinegar and baking soda soak for more than an hour. Believe it or not, this is progress. This is the most limescale I've been able to remove in a few years. </p><p>I'm not sure how to get the rest. I obviously can't spend hours every day scrubbing this bathtub. It always looks filthy because of the scaling, even though I do clean it regularly. </p><p>Now I'm going to enjoy the fruits of my labour with a long soak. <a href="https://c.im/tags/limescale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>limescale</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/HardWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HardWater</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/calcium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>calcium</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bathtub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bathtub</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/cleaning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cleaning</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bath" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bath</span></a></p>
Shantell Powell<p>The water in Kitchener is ridiculously hard. I clean my bathtub, but you'd never know it by looking at it. I've tried all sorts of cleaners. This is what it looks like after an hour or so soaking in hot vinegar. Several hours later, I used CLR. When that was all rinsed away, I used a powder cleaner that bartenders swear by. My tub still looks repulsive. I have no idea what to do aside from throw out the whole tub and get a new one. Seems wasteful and expensive. My tub looks like the filthy bathtubs of The Sims only without the flies. And yes, I have a water softener. <a href="https://c.im/tags/cleaning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>cleaning</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/bathtub" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bathtub</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/LimeScale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LimeScale</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/Bathroom" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bathroom</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/HardWater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HardWater</span></a></p>

Please share 🙏🏻</p><p>Our details:</p><p>- need it softened for all the reasons, pipes/appliances/glassware/skin<br>- /extremely/ hard water that otherwise is pretty clean, no iron/chlorine/etc<br>- municipality does allow sodium-based softening tho we're considering potassium anyway for environmental reasons</p>
