Last week @HazelChu criticised the government for not doing anything to stop the ludicrous situation whereby we put tourists into houses and people who need houses into hotels.

But I guess there's more money to be made from the status quo.

The €6.7m that the government paid for the use of this Rathmines hotel over ten months works out at €8,600 per room per month. If you bought houses for those people you'd have got your money back in two years.

Planning a trip to #Finland in early August. Looking for accommodation (3 adults & 5 nights) in or near #Tampere that is within public transport reach.

Are there any local or national holiday rental portals that you can recommend? Or listings pages for summer houses? Places you know?

I want to avoid big US-owned brokers like booking.com or #airBnB. I'm not using any of the various #Meta platforms (no FB, Insta or WhatsApp groups, please).
