#SunsetCruise after today’s storm.

Moody cloudy sky, frothy ocean waves coming right up to a wall of rocks, a 3-story apartment building hanging out above the rocks lit by the early evening sun.

Partly cloudy sky lit from underneath by the setting sun. Frothy waves, sandy beach that a creek has carved artfully through to the ocean. Sandy bluffs covered with ice plant and other vegetation are lit golden by the light. Low mountains rise behind.

A torii-type arch at the top of a set of stairs down to a beach. There is wooden fencing going off to the right and left of the arch. There are warning signs attached to the fencing. Two are faded and unreadable. One is large, brown with which lettering, and a yellow diamond with the word “warning” inside it. It warns of Recurring Rip Currents and No Lifeguard On Duty.

In front of that is my bike, a Tern NBD. It has two panniers on the back end. And objectively it’s the cutest bike in the whole world.

The sun is just above the horizon, dropping out of a bank of clouds before dipping into the ocean. In the near foreground are some dunes and vegetation, with Pilarcitos Creek running between them on its way to its mouth where it exits into the Pacific. The clouds above the water in the foreground are highlighted with gold by the sun.

Sun just kissing the Pacific Ocean on the horizon. It’s a yellow dot, surrounded by a gradient that goes from orange to gold to darkening shades of blue. The water is fairly calm with a small wave rolling up on to the sandy beach. A bit of wet sand is reflecting the sun.

Pokey the Trike sits at the edge of a sandy bluff overlooking the ocean and the fading sunset. Pillar Point is off to the right with its streetlights barely visible. A couple of picnic tables and the bluff are silhouetted against the sea. Pokey’s taillight glows deep red.

A similar image to the previous one, but this time the planet Venus is photobombing the scene.

I like to check on how Frenchman’s and Pilarcitos creeks fare after a good rainfall, to see how they bust through the dunes to drain into the ocean. In the first shot, I didn’t realize it but you can see both creeks kissing each other (on the mouth! as it were). Second shot gives a closer view.

I love water and seeing what changes it makes.

What I saw riding today, which turned into a #SunsetCruise along #HalfMoonBay. The sun dropped down below the clouds to light up Pillar Point Harbor. Then they went behind the clouds again for the sunset. The nearly-full moon was coming up. And as I neared home I could see the crab fleet making its way home to the harbor.
