Keeping its current config is "Option 1" in the city manager's report, which will be presented tonight at a council meeting.</p><p>Here's a synopsis of my own letter: I bike, drive, and walk down Garden St frequently. Since its conversion to a one-way street two years ago, it's been far calmer and saner for all modes of transit. It's also the safest travel option for my older kid, who will start biking to high school this fall. Reopening it to two-way car traffic will encourage faster and more chaotic car travel, with drivers weaving around paused and turning vehicles in both directions, amid decreased sight lines. Changing the bike lane configuration to a two-way corridor on one side of the street increases friction between cyclists and more awkward transitions at intersections. All these changes combined will increase the likelihood of collisions and injuries. Clarissa<p>My bike and I are exploring the “commune” next to ours, hoping to reach 90% (of all roads, tracks and paths). <br>Just had to explain to a man what I was doing after he warned me this track wasn’t going anywhere. He was duly impressed. 😄 </p><p>Doing the final bits of an area can be frustrating (often non-existent, overgrown, muddy tracks etc), but it can also be fun. I’m always hoping for a treasure in a dead end. 😄 Sometimes there is, like a field with cute cows, horses or sheep. </p><p>Residential cul-de-sacs are also interesting cuz people feel more “private” there so you can see all the shit they leave outside their houses. Marty Cormack<p>After visiting Canyonlands NP, I had time for a ride & this time I rode my <a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/BromptonBicycle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BromptonBicycle</span></a> on the bicycle infrastructure of Moab Utah. They have a pretty good Multiuse trail system through town, so I felt pretty safe riding. Given how popular mtn biking is in this area, it isn't surprising that there's above average bicycle infrastructure here. There are several bike shops and even more bike rental places. Between my hotel and Arches NP, I saw tons of cyclists these last few days.<br><a href="https://urbanists.social/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
