I installed /e/OS finally on my Fairphone5.
But had some struggle first. It didn't worked and I had to set my phone back with the rollback.
My Question: is it right, that the bootloader remains open?
Because it's not closed, after the install with the easy installer.

Cette semaine, on a reçu nos "vignettes tech".
Objectif : valoriser la plus longue durée de vie possible de nos produits technologiques, en reprenant les codes graphiques des vignettes qui étaient obligatoires de 1973 à 2001 pour les voitures.

Nos deux téléphones dégourdis tournent sous @e_mydata, dès leur acquisition (occasion pour les deux).
Par rapport à la politique fermée d'Apple, Android ou du moins #AOSP est quand même moins pire !
@e_mydata est peu médiatisée, et @GrapheneOS encore moins.
(Cette deuxième me parait de surcroit, only-nerds-friendly et compatible avec peu d'appareils.)
Ik heb een googlevrije telefoon (e/os/), al jaren geen whatsapp meer en insta ben ik nooit aan begonnen...
Il y a quelques années, j'avais tenté une installation de e/OS sur un smartphone. J'avais été refroidi par une fonction photo rendue impossible par une ou des applis qui mettaient plusieurs (trop) longues secondes à s'initialiser, et gelaient régulièrement. Pour moi, c'était bloquant, et je n'avais pas persévéré.
Quelqu'un par ici aurait des retours d'usage sur e/OS aujourd'hui ? Si les retours sont bons, notamment sur l'usage photo, je retenterais bien.

¿Alguien tiene experiencia con el sistema operativo para móviles e/OS --- por ejemplo con el Fairphone 5? (Tengo que cambiar de móvil y estoy mirando esa opción, pero no soy nada techie --- aunque sí uso Linux desde hace años.)
¿En e/OS se puede instalar Mastodon? Telegram? Whatsapp?

The linux desktop fight, which I actually thought had come to an end ;)
I used linux since #kde 1.1, allmost 30 years, and KDE most of that time, all though I did try Gnome and some other window managers from time to time. Countless Linux distros.
I have phone running #postmarketos with #plasmamobile, not really usable yet, though slowly improving. My best bid for a google/ios free mobile os usable in a foreseeable future would be #lineageos based, probably like #e_OS, with a not-google-run app store. Such a system would need a business model and economics to run, it does cost money.
My daily phone (#fairphone fp 3 with /e/os) is running quite well, but there is a long way for a setup that is usable by the masses, and the monopolists are bullies, like their unfortunate president.
We need to join forces :)
@ramin_hal9001 you can install /e/os on it in oem version. That is a privacy focused os based on lineageos, with some extras https://e.foundation.

I'm 90% moved to #Protonmail but wow I definitely got that old Gmail tangled up in too many accounts.
Would be even easier to separate if I could get @iode or #e_OS back on my phone to replace Google services entirely... A friend of mine in the cyber security space recommended both but this'll be a journey
Nogle danske brugere af e/os/ herinde? Jeg har et problem med #mobilepay, jeg kan ikke logge på - det går galt efter indtastning af mit-id-nøgle-kode.
Jeg kan i øvrigt logge på andre sites med mit-id, både med duckduckgo og firefox, men jeg tror mobilepay bruger den indbyggede browser.
Min telefon er en #fairphone #FP3, OS er #e_os 2.7-t-20250111460957-official-FP3.
Hvis nogen har det lignende setup hvor mobilepay virker, er jeg interesseret i oplysninger.

Min mistanke retter sig mod 'browser' appen, jeg kan ikke logge på e-boks med den, samme fejl. #efoundation we need an update!

In #Android 13 / #e_OS 2 T, can I somehow disable the weird stretching animation that happens when you hit the end of a website or any other box / list? Where the content of your whole screen gets stretched?
I found a way to disable *all* animations, but that looks awful as well. That stretching effect is a sin against everything that's holy including my eyes and I want it to stop.
And the best thing: you get a Google-free phone!
