#nonce is two separate nouns:

Nonce (1) means: The one or single occasion; the present reason or purpose.
(Etymology 1 is inherited from Middle English nonse, nones.)

Nonce (2, in Britain and Ireland) means: A sex offender, especially one who perpetrates against children.
(Etymology 2 is dated 1975, in British criminal slang.) French equivalent: #pointeur

The director of the institution, Pierre Silviet-Carricart, has been charged of the case of sexual assault. François Bayrou asked the investigating judge for a meeting at his place. The discussion was around the risks for the Bayrous' son, then a student at the boarding school. François Bayrou's wife attended the director's funeral in 2000.

At Parliament, on 11th February 2025, François Bayrou was representing the government for the weekly question-and-answer session. When asked about #Bétharram, he stated before the National Assembly that he had "never been informed of any violence, and even less of sexual violence".

François #Bayrou is the current Prime Minister of #France.

In 1996, violence was denounced in the elite catholic school of his constituency. He made an official visit as both the then Minister of National Education and a member of the National Assembly for a seat in Béarn (the province of the school). He told the regional press: "The people of Béarn felt these attacks with a sense of pain and a sense of injustice. […] All the checks were favourable and positive."

And one might reflect on why English Water companies (and some of 'their' - whoops your product as well) stink

Regulation that is not worth the paper that they flush down their khazis, and all aided and avetted by SUCCESSIVE Westminster governments. No Labour, you don't get to avoid the blame for regulatory collapse.

Now Reeves will carry on elsewhere!

Starmer, Labour PM "stands shoulder to shoulder with Trump, on the basis of shared values".

So that's clear.

Labour supporters can decide whether they stand shoulder to shoulder w Starmer. Because now is the time to decide. That includes MPs.
For.Sec. David Lammy has already done a moral somersault & is looking forward to working with one he used to call a "neo-Nazi sympathiser"

Forestry Corporation of NSW has ‘a pattern’ of illegally damaging the environment, scathing judgment finds

"A court has released a scathing judgment against the New South Wales’ state-owned forest agency, finding it had “a pattern” of illegally damaging the environment and had refused to accept the “true extent of the harm that it has caused”."

"The Land and Environment Court fined the Forestry Corporation of NSW (FCNSW) $360,000 for offences related to the logging of 53 eucalyptus trees in environmentally significant forest near Eden, in the state’s south, after the black summer bushfires."

"The court accepted an EPA submission that the agency had “a pattern of environmental offending, has not provided any compelling evidence of measures taken by it to prevent its reoffending, and does not accept the true extent of harm that it has caused by its offending...Justice Rachel Pepper agreed that any penalty imposed on the Forestry Corporation “must serve to deter it from future criminality”.

“The government is ultimately responsible for the Forestry Corporation, and have a duty to protect the people and environment of NSW from this rogue state-owned corporation."

In addition to speaking at the gala, Trump has also indicated he is considering Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) to be his running mate.
(Note: Trump will pick a crazy white woman like Gabbard or Boebert or Greene as VP)

But, the two Black lawmakers’ support for the former president isn’t sitting well with some Black voters.

“The only thing that the world is shocked by is that Tim Scott and Byron Donalds continue to support Trump in the light of him showing them how racist he can be and is,” Robinson said.

Black leaders are condemning former President Trump’s recent comments about Black voters as “racist.”

Speaking at the Black Conservative Federation ( #BCF ) annual gala in South Carolina on Friday, #Trump said his legal woes have earned him the support of Black voters around the country.

His comments quickly drew outrage from The #NAACP.

“The NAACP is outraged, but not surprised by yet another racist remark from the former President,” Derrick Johnson, NAACP president, told The Hill in a statement.

“Donald Trump is #delusional to think that his #criminality would be an attractive quality to Black voters,” he continued.

“He has taken advantage of an inherently racist system, while Black Americans have been abused by it. We are not the same.”

Mondale Robinson, founder of the Black Male Voter Project, called Trump’s comments “absolutely racist” and said they will not play out well with Black men.
