My PC upgrade is becoming a fact! The parts are already ordered. 😌

I am currently installing games that I played in the past but they underperformed so I can test them on the new configuration over the weekend. 😁

Leaving team blue (Intel) for AMD Ryzen 7 9700X on a brand new motherboard and 64 GB of RAM. 💙👋

And when the time comes to leave behind my team green GeForce RTX 3060 Ti I will be joining team red for good with a Radeon purchase! ❤️🤝

Almost forgot to add this performance boost to my #Jonsbo N1 DIY NAS.

I think I can conclude that #TheGRATEmigration11 was successful. #TrueNAS with *arr stack is up and running. My iso images are re-downloading, #Plex transcoding performance is amazing.

I need to migrate some services from a mini PC to TrueNAS. I also need a reverse proxy for them. I also meed to set up a backup solution for TrueNAS… There is still a lot to do. As usual in the #homelab

But now I rest. I #vacation and #Diablo IV. I also #beer and #snacks. Stay tuned.

Today, I re-installed Windows 11 onto one of my laptops and, as expected, everything went smoothly and without issue. At this point, it is just a very basic setup without any apps, games or data. Still, this freshly installed system already consumes over 50GB of precious disk space! Seriously! It already uses 59.078.078.464 Bytes!

I know. It's 2025 and this isn't Windows 3.1 or 98SE anymore. It's Windows 11. I know. But... this is still... so... f'ing... crazy!!! :blobfearful:

Wrote down a migration plan for my #DIYNAS. It will be a GREAT migration, because:
1. I need to move 10 TB of Linux iso images to the new NAS from #SynologyNAS. Currently I’m uploading all my Linux iso images collection to #Hetzner object storage, but looks like this will take something around 15 days. Too sad my external HDD is only 4 TB.
2. Then I’ll need to do a full #Synology NAS backup to C2 storage to replace its hard drives with SSD drives and remove NVMe drives from it. This NAS will become a small and fast family cloud with just photos and documents. Plus a storage for various backups on a separate volume with two 6 TB HDDs.
One of the Synology NVMe drives will become a boot drive for #TrueNAS
3. I need to put my 12 TB HDDs into the DIY NAS, add a couple of SSDs for applications and download my Linux iso collection back from Hetzner.
That would be fun)

So I'm building myself a #DIY #NAS in a #Jonsbo N1. I'm planning to try #TrueNAS on it. I want to move #Plex there and all my #selfhosted services, I currently host for myself and my family. For now, public services will remain under #Proxmox on a mini PC.

Here is a build: pangoly.com/en/build/share/vQe

Hardware ordered. No drives included, because I'm planning to rob my #SynologyNAS for two drives.

So what parts do people suggest for an all AMD build for 1080p 120fps gaming?
I currently have a Ryzen 9 5900X and an RX 7700XT but I still get drops below 60fps in some games and I'm getting sick of it.

#electrics and #pcbuilding nerds!

We've got a window sill with slits over a radiator. I'd like to convert 4 cheap arse pc fans to go under and increase the air output. See images.

Which parts do I need to be able to connect 4 serially and power them with 230v via a wall socket?

Please treat me like a beginner in this kind of thing

budget #PC Building is fucked cause millions of average Joes saw that their crap ass #GPU were selling for wild prices during the pandemic and thought they were sitting on a gold mine. Each of these jokers got on their paddleboard and tried to ride the wave.

But that was due to a manufacturing shortage AND a crypto boom

Now, 3 years later, manufacturing has resumed and ethereum is deader than disco. The wave is over. Clear oceans. No storms

Your lil shit ass 1060 is not worth $150. Your rat ass 2070 is not worth $300 fucking dollars.

Stop smoking dick. Get real.
