Darf ich vorstellen: #Philips SL-9 - eine der ersten #Energiespar-Leuchten, produziert ab 1984, 9W Leistungsaufnahme und eine Leistung von 425 #Lumen nominal. Innen eine um mehrere Kurven geführte #Leuchtstoffröhre und ein klassischer Eisen-Ballast mit elektronischem Starter erkennbar. Der Hersteller gab eine Lebenserwartung von 5000 Stunden an - ich habe das Ding seit 1990 nahezu täglich in Betrieb! Ich mag die Verbissenheit mit der sie problemlos ihren Job macht. #Energiewende #Langlebigkeit

Normally #DeutscheTelekom's core network is so #underpeered that they got sued by #Cogent & #Lumen nee. #Level3 for insufficient capacity and abusing them as #upstream|s.
In return, I'm surprised they only got #10G there. I would've already expected #100G and #OM5 fiber everywhere...

On Mon, the Santa Clara, CA-based company published a blog post about the problem, saying that it had issued a patch & that “impacted customers failed to implement system hardening & #firewall guidelines.”
#Lumen wrote that it located #malware inside #ISP routers serving certain groups or individual customers that could intercept passwords from those customers. Lumen said it believed the malicious #software was being used by #VoltTyphoon.

#Lumen researchers said they had identified 3 US ISPs that had been hacked this summer, one of them large, along w/another #US company & 1 in #India.
In a blog made public Tues, Lumen said the #hackers used a previously unknown vulnerability, known as a #ZeroDay flaw, in a program made by #VersaNetworks for managing wide-area networks. #Versa acknowledged the critical vulnerability late last week, warning only its direct customers.

"The outage of #911Systems in several states Wednesday evening was caused by the installation of a light pole, according to Lumen, a company that supports some of those systems.
"'On April 17, some customers in Nevada, South Dakota and Nebraska experienced an outage due to a third-party company installing a light pole – unrelated to our services,' Lumen Global Issues Director Mark Molzen told CNN on Thursday morning.
"The outage lasted less than three hours, according to Molzen, who said Lumen – a networking company that provides enhanced 911 services to local communities in multiple states – 'worked hard to fix it as quickly as possible.'
"Molzen declined to elaborate on exactly how the light pole installation resulted in the 911 outage, or where the pole was located. The 911 director in Douglas County, Nebraska, which encompasses Omaha, said in a statement Lumen informed the county the outage was related to a 'fiber cut.'"

“Lumen” is a word with multiple meanings (light, cavity, window) and all the paintings in this series deliberately make use of them.
In each one, there is a figure struggling to reach the light, seemingly trapped in a closed-in space by insurmountable obstacles.
Lumen from some leaves I gathered at a creek in the Eastern Sierras. This time I experimented with putting random objects on top of the plate during the 4 hour exposure.
