Unifying general relativity and the electromagnetic force? (I presume this also includes the weak nuclear force at sufficiently high energies, but this summary doesn't say)

phys.org/news/2025-04-einstein

I'm pretty much at the limit of my understanding of field theories and such just in this summary article, I don't think I'll even try their full journal article.

@cenobyte - Does Professor Skye or her research assistant have any comment on the matter?

"The unmarked security force [who dragged Teresa Borrenpohl out of a Republican town hall in Idaho] were from a private security firm called LEAR Asset Management, the [Post Falls] Press reported, but Sheriff Norris 'claimed no knowledge of the security personnel or who hired them.' LEAR did not respond to a request for comment for this piece."

"The closing of these agencies [USAID and NED] and the firings at the Pentagon have nothing to do with efficiency or DEI. They have everything to do with wanting leadership in government and the military that will do whatever is ordered, legal or otherwise."

Speaking of the use of force to control people in the autocratic America now coming into being under Musk-Trump:

In an incident gaining international attention, on Saturday Teresa Borrenpohl was wrestled to the ground, her hands tied with zip ties, and dragged out of a town-hall meeting of the county Republican committee meeting at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Because she spoke up and spoke out and this was not tolerated.

"Musk and Trump keep talking about our deficit and the need to save money. That is not why these cuts are happening. Musk is taking his chainsaw to our government for two reasons. First, Trump and Musk hate the government. They view it as an impediment to making more money. They don’t want to follow the rules or be held accountable."

"Trump is consolidating power within the White House, and while the scope of his actions is unprecedented, the idea underpinning them is not. It’s the unitary executive theory, albeit on a wild amount of steroids, and it’s already showing up in various administration court filings defending Trump’s illegal power grabs."

Vance could have given a shout-out to #JimmyCarter, who turned 100 Tues.

Carter, POTUS 1977 to 1981, not only never formally declared #war or sought authorization to use #force from #Congress, but also military records show not a single soldier died in hostile action during his presidency.
