The dad of the house sparrow family nesting above my living room under the attic is always very attentive and watches me when I'm on the balcony. As soon as I'm inside he comes down for some food or water

Männlicher Spatz auf der Suche nach Nistmaterial. Er sitzt auf einer grauen Wegeinfassung, ein gestuftes Mäuerchen, mit Moos bedeckt, dahinter eine recht wilde Wiese. Wir sehen den Spatz von der linken Seite. Er hat sich einen langen, vertrockneten Stengel ausgesucht, an dem er zerrt und zubbelt. Das Auserkorene ist aber offensichtlich zu lang und zu widerwillig. Es gelingt ihm nicht, es aus dem Boden zu rupfen. Der Transport hätte sich auch schwierig gestaltet, vermute ich. Glücklicherweise gab es auch genügend Material in deutlich kleineren Formaten.

Das Bild zeigt einen Spatz in Nahaufnahme, der auf einem Zweig sitzt, der mit weißen Blüten übersät ist. Der Vogel ist im Fokus und detailliert zu sehen, sein Gefieder ist deutlich erkennbar. Er scheint zu zwitschern oder zu singen. Der Zweig mit den weißen Blüten ist Teil eines größeren Baumes oder Busches, der sich im Hintergrund befindet. Der Hintergrund ist unscharf, aber man kann eine dunkle, hölzerne Struktur erkennen, möglicherweise eine Wand oder ein Zaun. This is a blue jay: a medium sized bird (about the size of a robin) that is blue. Males and females look alike. It's related to crows, but much more colorful, with its blue, black and white feathers. It's also very smart, like other Corvidae. This one is too big to fit on the feeders, so it is perched in the nearby branches, looking for bird food that has fallen to the ground.

This is a female red bellied woodpecker, a medium sized woodpecker. She is showing her belly in this picture, where you can see an ill-defined patch of reddish feathers that are responsible for her name. To me, the females always look like little bald men (the males have reddish feathers over the top of their heads, but the females have white feathers over the top.

This is a small sparrow that I see only rarely on a feeder--most of the time, they feed from the ground. It has a cinnamon cap, black and white on its face, a gray chest and belly and brown and black wings. It's a chipping sparrow.

Takie zdjęcie mi wyszło, że aż zobaczycie je pierwsi przed Flickrem i Vernissage.

Zdjęcie dwóch wróbli siedzących na równo przystrzyżonym na wysokość krzaku. Na pierwszym planie samica wróbla, patrząca w prawo, siedząca za wystającą cienką gałązką z zielonym liściem, który częściowo zasłania jej skrzydło. W rozmazanym tle siedzi za nią samiec wróbla, który z perspektywy wygląda na przekreślony przez gałązkę. Samiec również patrzy w prawą stronę.
