Kingfisher
Finally I was able to photograph a kingfisher. I really like the colours of this "diamond".
The kingfisher (Alcedo atthis) grows up to 19.5 cm and has a wingspan of up to 25 cm. It feeds mainly on fish, but also on insects and tadpoles.

Endlich konnte ich mal einen Eisvogel fotografieren. Ich mag die Farben von diesem „Diamanten“ sehr und den englischen Namen „Königfischer“.

Der Eisvogel (Alcedo atthis) wird bis zu 19,5 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 25 cm. Er ernährt sich vor allem von Fischen, aber auch von Insekten und Kaulquappen. 1973 und 2009 war der Eisvogel in Deutschland Vogel des Jahres.

Egyptian Goose The Nile Goose (Alopochen aegyptiaca) grows up to 73 cm tall and has a wingspan of up to 135 cm. Its diet includes grasses, seeds and leaves. The Nile Goose was originally native to most of Africa, but due to escaped gooses from farms (#fckzoos), they are also native to Europe. Nilgans Die Nilgans (Alopochen aegyptiaca) wird bis zu 73 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 135 cm. Sie ernährt sich u.a. von Gräsern, Samen und Blättern. Ursprunglüch war die Nilgans in fast ganz Afrika beheimatet, aber durch entflohene Tiere aus Haltungen (#fckzoos) sind sie auch hier beheimatet. Buzzard with prey
I spotted the buzzard when I was just outside a car park. There was a tree in front of it and I could use its camouflage to get closer. Then there was a deep ditch into which I lowered myself to crawl up and take a few pictures.

The common buzzard (Buteo buteo) grows to a height of 58 cm and has a wingspan of up to 128 cm. Its diet includes mice, rabbits and amphibians. Its plumage can vary in colour from pale white to dark brown.


Mäsuebussard mit Beute
Ich hab den Mäusebussard gesichtet als ich gerade kurz vor einer Parkbucht war. Davor war ein Baum in dessen Tarnung ich mich annähern konnte. Darauf gab es einen tiefen Straßengraben in den ich mich fallen ließ um mich anschließend hoch zu robben und unbemerkt ein paar Fotos machen zu können. Die Kamera lag als Beifahrer bereits auf meinen Schoß.

Der Mäsuebussard (Buteo buteo) wird bis zu 58 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 128 cm. Er ernährt sich u.a. von Mäusen, Kaninchen und Amphibien. Das Federkleid kann verschiedene Farben haben von eher weiß bist dunkles braun.

Duck through duck
A group of mallards are grazing. As I already had some pictures in the box, I tried to get a shot through the gap between the leg and the head. Moody blue.
Mallards grow up to 60 cm tall and have a wingspan of 95 cm. They can be seen all year round in Germany. Their diet includes berries, water plants and frogs.


Ente durch Ente
Eine Stockentengruppe grast gerade. Da ich schon ein paar Bilder im Kasten hatte, hab ich versucht durch die Lücke zwischen Bein und Kopf zu fotografieren. Moody blue.
Stockenten werden bis zu 60 cm groß und haben eine Spannweite von 95 cm. In Deutschland sind sie ganzjährig zu beobachten. Zur Ernährung gehören u.a. Beeren, Wasserpflanzen und Frösche.

Tufted Duck
I was apparently a bit late as most of the tufted ducks were already sleeping when I arrived or even before. But I wanted to get a photo with the beautiful yellow eyes. That made it a bit more difficult. But I managed to get this photo.
The Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula) grows up to 47 cm long and has a wingspan of up to 72 cm. It can be seen all year round and feeds on seeds, mussels and snails. The male has black and white plumage and a prominent crest, while the female has black plumage.


Reiherente
Ich war scheinbar etwas spät dran, da die meisten Reiherenten anfingen zu schlafen als ich kam oder bereits zuvor. Ich wollte aber eine Foto mit den schönen gelben Augen. Das hat es etwas schwerer gemacht. Dieses Foto ist aber dabei entstanden.
Die Reiherente (Aythya fuligula)wird bis zu 47 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 72 cm. Sie ist ganzjährig zu beobachten und ernährt sich u.a. von Sämereien, Muscheln und Schnecken. Das Männchen hat ein schwarz-weißes Federkleid und einen markanten Schopf, das Weibchen hat ein schwarzes Federkleid.

Hawfinch

Its powerful beak can exert up to 50 kg of pressure, allowing it to easily crack open its food, which includes seeds, insects, and cherry pits. The hawfinch is usually found in the treetops.


Kernbeißer
Der Kernbeißer (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) wird bis zu 18 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 33 cm. Damit ist er die größte Finkenart in Deutschland. Sein kräftiger Schnabel kann einen Druck von bis zu 50 KG! aufbauen, somit kann er seine Nahrung, die u.a. aus Sämereien, Insekten und Kirschkernen besteht, locker knacken. Zumeist ist der Kernbeißer in den Baumwipfeln unterwegs.
