Did a #BirdlifeAustralia #AussieBirdCount just now. I know exactly what they're trying to do to me. Sitting on a park bench in the shade, watching the skies and listening to the birdsong, trying to work out if it's a noisy miner or a common myna, and thinking, maybe I should get some binoculars... That's how it starts, people! Be on your guard!

Would all birds please enter the counting area in single file, land, pause, stay still and wait until identified. If the counter incorrectly identifies you, please speak up.
The counter will let you know when you can move on.

Also please no looping back around and not announcing you have already been counted.

Flying around the perimeter is also prohibited.

If you could follow these rules, it would make counting much easier.
