Ugh after some unasked advice about how to improve the NMM my brain went 'apparently it's shit' and I spent more time on the NMM.

No, my people, it's not going to get better. I'm learning slowly, and this model is too complex for me, and oil paint is complex stuff.

Two more scenarios of the #RangersOfShadowDeep mission Burning Light. Companions didn't all last, but us rangers tanked them.

My mook companion Boris Johnson didn't get killed for once. Probably because he's got -1.5 inches move and never got anywhere. Might have to convert him to being a wheelchair user. Because he's Boris Johnson and will abuse any privilege he can, the blustery bastard.

So, I'm making a few #shitpost teams for Gaslands, the post-apocalyptic car racing wargame.

One is the transformers. I have 1:64 Optimus Prime and a few more of those 1:64 based on the movies.

The other team is currently a hotwheels Mystery Machine and soon I will get a hotwheels Ninja Turtles van. I'm looking for suggestions who to add to this team. Some cartoon character(s) (ideally teenagers) with a car or a van that can be easily obtained in Matchbox size. Hmmm....

Painted my #RangersOfShadowDeep wargaming ruler. This may be close to the least usable wargame accessory around but I had a chuckle. Also had #BloodBowl league night, as the LC I was the odd one out but I had fun. Discovered this shameful dwarf (and his twin) in the new guy's team

Wargaming measuring tool - simple ruler which measures 7 inches across one side, 4 across the other and is 2 wide. It is accurate to a quarter inch.

In een flash of brilliance I decided to not just ink the recessed scale lines, but also put Magenta Fluo paint in them, and then of course I could not NOT paint the numbers yellow

More painting as escapism.

This time, I painted an ogre. Had some fun with it, experimenting with layering colors and practicing getting paint where I want.

On this mini, I think the thing I am most pleased with are the stitches on the leather – I got them almost perfect!

The actual mini isn't as bright as this photo makes it look. I need to do a better job of getting a lighter slapchop grayscale base and thinning my paints more. Live and learn.

Right now my escape from the madness is “Five Leagues from the Borderlands”, a solo skirmish wargame with RPG elements.

I’m learning how to paint miniatures for the game and…well, it’s coming along. I’m still not 100% happy with my work when I am done but I can see a lot of progress looking back at my earlier attempts.

For these wargs I tried edge highlighting for the first time and it helped a LOT!
