Convention wisdom would say that a #Leica M-P (Typ 240) isn't the right camera to use to shoot the #aurora, but who cares about convention wisdom when it can do the job?

It's been a pretty awesome day. Making friends with reindeer, meeting some amazing Sami folk, and finished the day with king crab pasta back at the cabin.
No photos of the pasta sorry!
This mob in Tromsø offer tour services with special attention to accessibility. Reindeer visits, aurora chasing and other treats in the Troms district.
They have a very good van with wheelchair lift for example. The Arctic is a tough place to make accessible, but they're doing it.

By lunchtime the bright glow in the south was starting to peak. We're a little early for the sun to make it over the horizon, and yet the landscape still shines with the most gentle light bending through the sky.

Icy light at the end of the day. Well, 2pm is the end of the daylight here :)
Stunning purple skies today, but the clouds came in before the aurora could line up with the purple hues.
Rented snowshoes and went up Fjellheisen again. Hoped for a view of Tromsø during the blue ‘hour’, when the sun sits just below the horizon (it’s not completely dark all day, although it’s currently polar night above the Arctic Circle), but had to wait over an hour in the queue for the cable car. Still, Tromsø looks very pretty all lit up in the darkness.
