80 years since May 8 1945, Liberation Day from the fascist occupiers in #Norway, children celebrating on top of the nazi bunker at Ole Bulls plass.

"Bergen celebrated the occasion in an orgy of light," an article written about the festivities in the month after, where spontaneous and larger parades were arranged, and the king's return to the country was praised. Remainders of the nazi documents and buildings (like this bunker) were burned and torn down.

From Liberation Day, May 8, 1945. The prisoners at Møllergata 19 are getting transported in buses from Sporveien (the city's transport company) to Grini detention camp for registration and release. The prison was actively used by Gestapo through the war.

For de med hovedspråk norsk: Du skal skrive til noen du ikke kjenner i Sverige. Hvilket språk velger du?

There's a data #collective called @datacoop, where a bunch of #Danes have the gumption to run their own independent bare metal. They're considering colocation even.

They have shared services and individual services, depending upon usage - and each user pays through a membership system.

There's even a cheaper tier below standard to be inclusive. It's quite inspirational.

If anyone in #Norway / #Norge would be interested in taking part in a future #datacollective, just talk to @papiris

After searching shelter from a nearing thunderstorm we either discovered the end of the rainbow for the first time or the rainbow bridge to Valhalla guarded by Heimdall himself. Whatsoever, a second rainbow appeared as well, doubling the rare impression of what a thunderstorm can create within seconds!

There are many famous spots in Trondheim, this one wasn't on my list when I walked on top of the hill, looking down the street towards the centre of the town. Unplanned but welcomed anyway!

Just one for me, please…

In the national expo in #Bergen in 1928, exhibitors in trade, tourism, crafts, sport and others showed their wares and weirds around the city. Our largest brand of beer, still running, is named for our #Hansa history, and this was their monumental mascot.

⭐ Hey #MutualAid community,

🧩 I have autism and struggle with social anxiety, so I’m reaching out today for a bit of mutual aid, if you’re able, please give this post a boost.

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 It’s a small ask, but I’m working on accepting my social anxiety, and your support would mean a lot and could help me find new friends nearby to overcome my social anxiety, heal, and feel more comfortable socializing.

🇳🇴 I’m based in Bergen, Norway, with interests in Anarchism, particularly anarcho-syndicalism, as well as free software and Linux.

💙 Thank you so much!

"The Graf Zeppelin is a ship with a soul. You have only to fly in it to know that it's a living, vibrant, sensitive and magnificent thing."
– British journalist Lady Grace Drummond-Hay

Graf Zeppelin did a world tour in 1929, flying over parts of the world until then unseen. In 1930 it did an even more daring flight, when it swooped by #Bergen.

After the Hindenburg accident in 1937, Graf Zeppelin was quickly put out of commission, and turned into a museum ship. This post was inspired by an article in NRK today, where some of these images were featured.
