It’s been a solid 20 years at least since I was on my L plates in #SA and I’ve recently had a coworker start in my team without a license at all. New to the country, living nowhere near me - does anyone have any good ideas on how completely their hour requirements?

Back in my day you’d just find someone with a full license to sign the logbook, and then do the test until you passed but I’m sure there’s more to it these days. #Adelaide

@RichardSiggs
When will govt grow some and hold corporate owners to conduct their business in keeping with the social licence they are granted (especially when publicfunds are involved)?

The rich currently strut their egos around as if they are untouchable and above basic responsibilities from which lowly employee are not exempt. #TaxReform is sorely needed and some ‘nationalisation’ is in order among the extractive and manufacturing industries. It wouldn’t come to this if Corporations behaved responsibly.

I think this very fitting image deserves an #AltText:

"The image is a cartoon by #Slyngstad, dated 2025, depicting a scene with a military officer [looking like #DonaldTrump, but dressed like #AdolfHitler in his #SA uniform:] in a tan uniform with a red armband [portraying a "T, " similar in style of the Nazi paramilitary organization #SA, #Sturmabteilung, though with a #Swastika,]...

I venture to say that the #SA #blackouts is yet another ‘in your face’ example of what happens when the State lets a ‘private company’ look after infrastructure that should, by any measure, remain in public hands.

I’ll also venture to say that such ‘sweet deals for mates’ as selling off infrastructure and services to private bidders only ever leads to deteriorating infrastructure and a constant downgrading of services.

Ergo, I have no hesitation to put forward a lack of maintenance on the electricity infrastructure under stewardship of the private company in question as the sole and only factor for the resulting blackouts.

ABC News · Power restored on Yorke Peninsula as ElectraNet urged to explain outageBy ABC News

South Africans will experience more power shortages as the demand for energy increases during these heatwaves, and many will be left struggling for access to clean water.

The risk of wildfires is also growing, as was recently experienced in the Cape. In the dry, windy conditions expected in many regions, the potential for fires to spiral out of control is frighteningly high

#trump does not care about what courts say.
He rules by the #fuhrerprinzip .
And if there are enough people who do what Trump says (his #SS and #SA ) then #birthrightcitizenship and #democracy WILL end.
Time of protest is over, you literally have to FIGHT for your survival and take Trump, Musk and ALL their minions down.
Remember they are NOT the majority. They are with few, very few and we, the people, are with MANY !!! We are NOT helpless !!!

#DOGE workers make me think of the #SA After their dirty work is done they are likely to be set aside because of sexual orientation, neurodivigency or (remote) roots in ethnicities that don't deserve #privilige
No telling what the setting aside will be yet.

Mzansi farmers uninsured as climate disasters strike
