I adore #Casio and #Panasonic when it comes to dependable and rugged consumer electronics. Yet...

I have this #protrek swg-100 watch since 2009 and it has been a reliable #watch but terrible wrist watch. Damn strap ripped after 6 years and a new one didn't even last 4 years.

I am done buying new straps and went full DIY on it with 3d printed TPU strap. I will be keeping this watch in emergency bag from now on.

Question aux #photographe (s) ici présent.e.s : je souhaite pour ma nouvelle décennie un bon appareil compact, potentiellement reconditionné, parce que le bridge (#Panasonic DMC-FZ48) c'est trop volumineux dans le sac avec les enfants. J'avais repéré le Panasonic Lumix TZ200 mais épuisé. D'autres suggestions ? (Budget autour de 600 €, un bon #zoom, pour faire de belles photos de famille, de vacances, pour #Commons, et avec bonne #macro pour les #archives)

I had a really hard time making this image during a super moon. For those who know Marseille, this is one of the angels that adorn the basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde. There are very few angles to achieve perfect alignment of this angel with the super moon and I only had a few seconds to take this image with a very large telephoto lens. Voilà !

Here’s another example of contrast. In the background, a banner for the Olympic Games shows all the celebration and success. But up front, there’s a duvet and a pair of shoes on a park bench—just a reminder of homelessness. It’s easy to look away, clean up, and keep moving. But how often do we stop and think about how quickly anyone could end up in that situation? When safety nets fail, the reality becomes impossible to ignore.

And just to be clear, I’m not posting this to get likes or attention. I really couldn’t care less if anyone likes my photos. What I want to show is the side we usually look past. Maybe we need to remind ourselves more often of how lucky we are? We often take our comfort for granted, but it’s fragile. Small changes in circumstances can have a big impact.

I could also question myself, whether it’s fair or not to expose these people. But then again, what’s the alternative? Ignoring them entirely?
