lakeladyI realized on my last trip that it's time for a new point & shoot camera (current one is 10 years old). I'm tired of lugging around my old DSLR. So mastodon <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/hivemind" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#hivemind</a> - what point & shoot cameras do you recommend? and why do you like particular ones? In the past I was very happy with my <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Panasonic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Panasonic</a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Lumix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Lumix</a> cameras but reading current reviews I'm not sure I'll stick with them. Ewen Bell 📷Tashi and I took a little walk one morning to look for birds, and what I thought was a flock of sparrows turned out to be gorgeous little rose finches. Wellfotos🗨️🇬🇧 🪲 Large pine weevil 🇫🇮 I was waiting for the great spotted woodpecker to make his presence known, but suddenly the beetle was right next to me. I quickly changed the lens and missed the woodpecker for this pile shot 😉. ℹ️ The spruce bark beetle (Hylobius abietis) grows up to 1.4 cm long and is mainly found in coniferous forests. 🗨️🇩🇪 🪲 Fichtenrüsselkäfer 🇫🇮 Eigentlich hab ich den Buntspecht aufgelauert, der sich bereits durch Laute bemerkbar machte, aber auf einmal war der Käfer neben mir. Ewen Bell 📷Might be that the best part of this journey was when Tashi got his own Macro lens and hence a chance to discover something very new and very wonderful. His patience with the butterflies is exemplary. There was a moment when he realised that you need more than flowers to chase butterflies, you need the sun as well.
