Happy Halloween!

Took a short walk on #ClearCreekTrail this morning and found some Virginia creeper starting to put on its fall show. Pretty sure it's not poison ivy but it's a little hard to tell in these photos and there's definitely plenty of both on the trail.

Trees shouldn't be too far behind. Hopefully we'll get some nice Autumn colors rather than a brown and down .

Asters are a member of the Asteraceae family and have the typical flower shape of that family with long petals that radiate from a center filled with florets. Aster species such as this one have a couple of layers of slender petals surrounding the central disk. This variety has purple petals and orange and yellow florets.
