Bonus #ThursDeath - AUTOLYSIS are from Edmonton, Alberta (not the Autolysis from Australia). This is the 'Inevitable Infection' EP they put out last year. It's heavy, it SOUNDS grody, and there's doctors operating on the cover art (you know the stuff). But fair warning-- around those doctors on the cover art is an assortment of grossness, hence why I cropped it to just display their logo here. Still- it's a ripper of an EP.

#ThursDeath for this week is Columbia, South Carolina's IMPEST. They released a demo just a little over a year ago, and these three tracks are chock full of grody riffs and some great dynamics. Psyched to see what else these guys do, they're tight and have an excellent old school type sound.

This week's #ThursDeath is one I've been listening to this week in anticipation of their debut LP.

Vienna, Austria's FESSUS have promised their first full length this year, and from the sound of this 2023 demo 'Pilgrims of Morbidity', it's gonna be killer.

Fessus are crushing, riffy, cavernous, an old school feel-- just how I likes it.

This week's #ThursDeath is the excellent first demo from Canadian death metal duo WET ROT from Squamish, British Columbia. This 4 song demo entitled 'Fetid Pus' (gross, right?) from 2024 chugs and rips and wails - some great sounding old school type stuff here with excellent dynamics. Hope they keep going and do more, longer releases, this stuff is great.

A milestone in brutality and melody for the ages.

This week's #ThursDeath is a new discovery from earlier this week, Boston's INHALEMENT. They have a few unmastered songs on a promo (also on Bandcamp) they put out this year ahead of a new LP that's coming soon. But this is their excellent EP from 2020, 'Eternally Stoned'-- a dynamic, riffy, chuggy piece of oldschool style death. This has some cool, unique spots throughout these four tracks. Great drums, varied vocals, rad EP.
