I simply love the stuff that shows up in my timeline, and the variety of people who respond to things I post. Speakers of other languages, people from other countries and continents, people with similarly geeky interests or hobbies, people who love their own weird hobbies, interests, or professions intensely and describe them in loving detail such that it can't help but be interesting.
"Social" means "with people". And that's what the fediverse is - people. Nothing cramming junk in your feed to manipulate into buying, no bots trying to cheat ad revenue, just ... people.
I'm thankful.
Being on Mastodon has restored so much of my lost faith in humanity, more than once. The kindness of caring folks, funded my immediate dentures, very recently. I'm still documenting my entire personal journey for that.
A very kind & thoughtful person on the fabulous zeroes.ca instance, bought me these two very useful items to help me stress less over dental extractions appointment. They arrived today! I am so grateful for the thoughtful generosity & kindness of strangers
