Anyone heard of or worked with PRQL? prql-lang.org

It's "a modern language for transforming data", designed to be a "simple, powerful, pipelined" #SQL replacement. "Unlike SQL, it forms a logical pipeline of transformations, and supports abstractions such as variables and functions. It can be used with any database that uses SQL, since it compiles to SQL."

#Rust compiler, & there are integrations for #PostgreSQL, #ClickHouse, #VisualStudioCode etc.

🧪 [Trial] #ClickHouse gets a second mention, three years after being featured previously. This time it's in the context of storing #OpenTelemetry data and integration with #Jaeger

🌟The final one is nothing to do with data per-se, but a fantastic tool that I use every single day: @raycast, which is listed as "Trial". I'd do more than that - I'd wholeheartedly recommend adopting it right now :) 🌟

(I'm taking bets that I can build this based on SQLite if I set my mind to it I learned a lot of creative database stunts at #postgres meetups and now from #clickhouse and I'm telling you folks a database is a framework to be used to build platforms not to just passively sit there in a corner hidden behind a cache databases aren't some mimimi :)

I'm also going to do a lot more #prometheus and #victoria, A LOT more #clickhouse, a bunch of #kubernetes AND #nomad because I just have to have more container platforms. I want to trial #nats and #benthos as new platform glue and hopefully get to modernize #kafka to the raft-based new version which I call #kraftka and it's pronounced kraft-ka I insist and #elasticsearch / #opensearch needs some love too. I have #perses running and victoria logs, too #platforming #observability

so. now I need to fiddle with #clickhouse so that I can pass the #sqlite table engine this whole damn sqlite-ceph-vfs file uri thing and then I have a processing pipeline from kafka to clickhouse materializing shit into sqlite to ceph and have tiny sqlite databases to go safely stored in #ceph (or I use the S3 engine but I think that can't point to an sqlite file in S3) 😂Why am I doing this? BECAUSE I CAN ITCH NEEDS SCRATCH :) 🎉
