#Wrightbus has delivered 12 Kite Hydroliner #hydrogen buses to #German operator WestVerkehr GmbH, bringing Germany’s total to 43, with around 130 expected by end of 2025. Operating in North #Rhine-Westphalia, the buses serve #Heinsberg, Hückelhoven, and Erkelenz. WestVerkehr’s MD, Udo Winkens, called it a major step towards clean, future-ready transport. Supported by €3.4 million from Germany’s Federal Ministry for Digital and #Transport, the project helps cut noise and emissions. Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales praised the environmental benefits and strong cooperation with WestVerkehr. The buses offer up to 1,000 km range, refuel in under 10 minutes, and carry 90 passengers. Wrightbus has also opened a #European service centre in Brühl to support its growing fleet, with orders from RVK, Saarbahn, Cottbusverkehr and others. The centre is part of plans to expand Wrightbus’s service network across Europe, replicating its UK model.

#Wrightbus has secured a key order for its new 6-metre Rightech electric #buses, which will operate in Kent as part of a demand-responsive service across #Ebbsfleet Garden City. These buses, which can charge at public EV bays or local depots, offer flexibility for both scheduled and on-demand routes. Go-Coach founder Austin Blackburn praised their performance and efficiency. The project is funded by National Highways and will complement Kent’s existing zero-emission Fastrack system. Camland and Roam, key infrastructure partners, highlighted the significance of integrated EV charging. Wrightbus, Europe’s fastest-growing bus maker, developed Rightech as a pure EV brand with strong aftersales support. CEO Jean-Marc Gales emphasised the role of electrification in decarbonising transport and boosting jobs. Roam’s UK-wide network will keep the fleet running efficiently, showcasing how infrastructure and innovation can drive green mobility.

A trial of #Wrightbus hydrogen buses for Sizewell C workers has launched in #Suffolk, marking a step towards reducing construction emissions. If successful, Sizewell C could order up to 150 #buses, creating the UK's largest #hydrogen fleet. This initiative supports the region’s hydrogen #economy, creates #UK jobs, and reduces local transport impacts. Ryze Power supplies the green hydrogen, and a mobile refuelling system is also being tested. Sizewell C’s goal is to decarbonise its operations and accelerate the hydrogen transition. Wrightbus’s hydrogen buses, built in Northern #Ireland, contribute to UK manufacturing. The trial aims to encourage further hydrogen adoption across the region. If successful, it could help establish a broader hydrogen #transport network in the East of #England.

Greater Manchester’s Bee Network is advancing towards a greener future with its first electric bus conversion, in partnership with #Transport for Greater #Manchester (TfGM), Go North West, and #Wrightbus. Go North West is trialling the conversion of diesel #buses into fully electric vehicles, starting with one bus from its #Bolton depot. This innovative repowering aims to assess energy efficiency, range, costs, and performance as part of efforts to create a zero-emission fleet by 2030. Converting existing buses offers a cost-effective way to reduce emissions and extend vehicle lifespans. With over 69 electric buses already in operation, the trial could accelerate fleet electrification and set a model for the industry. The buses are also equipped with advanced features for passenger comfort and safety, including next-stop announcements and USB chargers at each seat.

#Wrightbus is re-entering the coach market after more than 30 years with the launch of the Contour, a low-emission 55-seater coach. The Contour, originally launched in 1987, has been reintroduced with modern features such as reclining seats, USB ports, and advanced safety systems. It offers a six-month lead time, significantly shorter than the industry average. Wrightbus is also developing a zero-emission #hydrogen coach, set for release within 18 months. This coach will feature a 1,000km range, rivaling traditional diesel models. Both vehicles will be supported by Wrightbus' AllServiceOne service network. CEO Jean-Marc Gales highlights the growing demand for low-emission coaches, while Head of Coach Sales, David Porter, notes the strong customer interest in the Contour.
