What the f*** is going on? Attacks on the disabled and the elderly, hundreds of thousands of children in poverty, people are starving and there are thousands of food banks. Meanwhile the UK PM sucks up to a mad US President, prostrating himself while hoping for crumbs from his table. But on the bright side England is getting a new theme park. Why do we put up with all of this? How far do things have to go before the people will say, "Enough"?

How do we navigate a World where so many think that the actions of the Israeli state led by Netanyahu is a positive or where so many applaud Donald Trump for crashing the World economy? What are sensible people supposed to do when intolerance and extremism are on the rise? Why do so many mock the idea of fairer societies where it isn't normal for the rich to get more and more? It is a sad and worrying time.

All the political developments of the last few years point to this. The oligarchs try to break up supra-national bodies like the #EU and #UN so they don't get a chance to create an international regulatory #tax framework to solve the avoidance & evasion that stops a proper redistribution of their wealth. Putting tax on consumers & working people through tariffs further solidifies #wealthInequality

This post has a link to a speech by the excellent George Monbiot. He explains why we don't have to vote for the lesser of two evils of Labour or the Tories (three evils if you include Reform). The speech lasts just under 11 minutes. If you have the time to spare it is well worth a listen.

Some might think that cuts for the disabled are something which don't impact them as they are not disabled. Cuts to cold weather payments for the elderly don't matter as they are not old. Policies which cause poverty for our children don't matter as their children are not impacted or maybe they don't have kids.

We need a more caring society which is repulsed by targeting the most vulnerable while the rich live in luxury.

Who's next if we say or do nothing?

I will never understand what motivates the rich. Imagine if you had Musk or Branson's money. Wouldn't your home have glorious parks, libraries, art galleries stuffed with interesting works, concerts and successful sports teams? There would be no homelessness or teenagers roaming the streets with nothing to do. There would be nobody cold or hungry. Even harder to understand if you could do all of these things and still be fabulously wealthy and want for nothing.

Bezos is the "poorest" of the billionaires listed in the linked post, worth $241.9 billion
241.9 billion nm is more than halfway around an Olympic running track (400 m)

The US median net worth is about $190,000
Musk's is $394.2 billion

Musk has almost made it around the Olympic track while 50% of the US has gone about two hairs' breadth

A 20 minute speech to learn separate the main battle in society: billionaires vs non-billionaires.

The US government is putting up a smoke screen of side issues to cover that battle - terrifying acts and decrees - but side issues nonetheless.

Thanks #BernieSanders for your enlightening speech.

#WealthInequality is the main game. Not only in the US. Everywhere.
