Imagine Airdrop or similar short-range file-transfer tools, but using not Bluetooth but instead the high-speed data transfer enabled by UWB (Ultra Wideband). The UWB standard was originally developed for data transfer, not precise location, and it's getting common in phones, though not laptops.

UPDATE: Airdrop uses Wi-Fi for data transfer heavy lifting, it turns out. Still seems pokey to me, though.

@stroughtonsmith Do we know yet how the #visionPro interacts with #UWB devices? Can it position and interact with eg a HomePod when one gets close to it?

And can it eg show a very intriguing UI for finding an AirTag?

And if someone wants to share something from their iPhone, I guess UWB can help bridge the video feed of that iPhone with an actual rendering of that shared something to the Vision Pro?
