@sk76 That's the old site of Doornroosje. I used to come there a lot. Not yet at that time though, being just a little too young.
But nothing ever changed much at #doornroosje. It was really too small a venue but all the great bands of that era played there anyway.
I have good memories of nights with #Pixies, #Radiohead, #NoMeansNo and many more.

I live in Portugal, old millennial, married, father of 2 young children, work as an Information System consultant, into #FOSS #Linux #Privacy #Art #Cinema #Politics, #Radiohead, #MentalHealth, #RetroGaming, #Retrocomputing and #retro stuff in general
But I'm a chick. I'm Nicoooole. What the hell is the fediverse? I don't belong here.
@icastico yeah I know lots of people who feel that way.
I much prefer Kid A, but ultimately, I would have preferred one album with the best of both.
You wanna partake in an exercise?
My friends and I did this a lot.
Pick TWELVE songs combined from both Kid A and Amnesiac, and construct ONE album, taking into consideration the flow of the chronological order.
As to not sway you, I’ll withhold mine til after.

RADIOHEAD
Amnesiac
2001 Europe 2x10” pressing
I’m one of those people who refer to this as “Kid B”.
It IS warranted, as its a far less effective continuation of KID A (the songs were all recorded at the same time).
All that being said, there are some gorgeous, essential songs on here: Pyramid Song, Knives Out, I Might Be Wrong, You And Whose Army? to name a few.
But with those gems comes nonsense like Hunting Bears, Like Spinning Plates, Pulk/Pull…

The Bends is 30 today! This album has been a close friend for almost as long and has always been there for me when I needed it.
It’s my soundtrack for riding through the both literal and metaphorical night. It’s upbeat and dreamy, vivid and pensive, lofty and grounded – high and dry, really ;)
It's my favourite for reasons I’m not quite sure about – but I don't care either, because I just like to enjoy it. It’s perfect.

Just saw Josh Cohen perform “Radiohead for Solo Piano” at the Ian Potter Recital Hall, Theatre Royal, Hobart. He’s back in Aus after a few years in Berlin.
Five stars, would recommend. Assuming you like that sort of thing.
The venue is also very good.
Next shows are at the Gasworks Arts Park in Melbourne.

"Paranoid android" - Radiohead
After that slice of rockspell, there's a pain in the diodes right up my chart. Thankfully, a band inspired by Pink Floyd can relieve my ache.
The lead single from "Ok Computer" comes in four distinct movements, like a proper rhapsody (cf Queen, Gershwin...)
Ambitious, complex, sweeping; it's songwriting talent freewheeling down a steep hill with the brakes off. No wonder they didn't want to share a studio with Barlobe.
