A cold, clear night last night gave me a good chance to test the astrophoto capabilities of my new setup.

This lens was designed for crop sensors, so there is a lot of vignetting on the full frame sensor. The image is still sharp enough to the corners, but that may take more post processing.

This isn't the most interesting astro photo by a long shot. What's impressive (to me) is the fact that I took this photo of the #OrionNebula with my phone from the window sill.
I'm usually not the biggest fan of Google's overprocessed Pixel photos, but I have to admit that I'm really impressed by what modern phones can achieve with their tiny lenses and sensors.
(This was taken with a Pixel 8a, which doesn't even have a tele lens.)

New 14 minute composite shot of the #OrionNebula.

Eben gab es kurz etwas klaren Himmel. Der Mond war schon ziemlich hell, aber für den Orionnebel ging es noch.
Einzelbild mit 400 mm an MFT, Nachführung, 15 Sekunden Belichtungszeit bei Blende 4.5 und ISO1600. Quick and dirty Bearbeitung am iPad. Habe noch mehr Aufnahmen, mal sehen wann ich die gestackt kriege… Dann ist da sicher noch mehr rauszuholen!
