Today the editorial board of _Mathematical Logic Quarterly_ (pub'd by #Wiley) resigned and launched a new #DiamondOA journal on the same topics.

See the open letter announcing their resignations and plans for the new journal.

The new journal has a German title but will publish in English, _Zeitschrift für Mathematische Logik und Grundlagen der Mathematik_.

I track these journal "declarations of independence" in the #OpenAccessDirectory (#OAD), and just added an entry for this one, at the bottom in chronological order.

I also track them — and discussions of them — in the Open Access Tracking Project (#OATP, @oatp).

open-access.networkRücktritt des MLQ-Editorial-TeamsReaktion auf Differenzen mit Wiley: Gründung eines neuen Open Access Journals

The editorial board of the 52-yr old _Journal of Human Evolution_ just resigned to protest #Elsevier's interference with editorial practices, reducing journal quality, and insistence on a high #APC ($3990), reducing its affordability to authors in the field. "We all care deeply about the journal, our discipline, and our academic community; however, we find we can no longer work with Elsevier in good conscience."

There's no sign yet that the editors will launch a new #OpenAccess journal somewhere else. So I've not yet added it to the #OAD list of journal #DeclarationsOfIndependence

@jalefkowit

I use #Oad on slowest mode, but the game becomes a bit repetitive against AI once you master it.

Also, I'd like to know about computer games that are playable in a small window, so as to play them while I listen to podcas-like videos (where it's useful to be able to see what's shown, but not necessarily the full screen most of the time) ?
I use FreeAlchemist, but it becomes repetitive after a while.

The Open Access Directory (#OAD) just launched its new list of university rights-retention OA policies.

There are already different lists around the web for uni policies taking different approaches to rights retention. This an attempt to capture them all.

Remember that OAD is a #crowdsourced #wiki and depends on the #OA community to keep it current and comprehensive.
