After the #LAWildfires it's well past time Climate people retired forever the word #Alarmist. Like #ProLife for the #ForcedBirthers, Alarmist belongs to the deniers and the stallers. The world burners. Their word. Their frame. Their tool. For their sociopathic, horrific ends latimes.com/business/story/202 #Climate

Peter Akemann, co-founder of video game studio Treyarch and recent president of Skydance Interactive, has pleaded guilty to crashing a drone into a firefighting plane during the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Akemann ignored flying restrictions in order to survey the Palisades Fire but lost track of his drone. Here's more from Eurogamer.

The surviving members of Nirvana — Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear — made a surprise appearance at last night's FireAid show, performing "Breed" with St. Vincent, "School" with Kim Gordon, "Territorial Pissings" with Joan Jett, and "All Apologies" with Violet Grohl, the 18-year-old daughter of Dave. Here's @RollingStone's story, including a video of the show.

See the second link for @AssociatedPress's story on the whole event, which was to raise money for Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods and other areas impacted by the L.A. wildfires.

There's a hoax by #rightwing U.S. billionaires to blame everything on #DEI, #LGBTQIaplus , and AFABs (including cis women).

#Billionaires were behind the campaign to oust a District Attorney ('black' cis female) and a mayor (Asian American cis female) In the East Bay.

Billionaires kept pushing the narrative that downtown San Francisco was crime -ridden and the shops were empty because of the mayor (a 'black' cis woman). Real reasons: COVID, high rent (retail), high cost of living, according to my mum's friends who live there.

'DEI hires' are to blame for the #DCplanecrash. That lie was told by Trump and his flying nazi monkeys before anyone knew or cared what the pilots looked like. The crash was caused by longstanding problems (ex: Lack of air traffic controllers) Nothing to do with the pilots.

Wealthy #farright media loonies, GOP, etc. in U.S. blame DEI, a 'black' female mayor, & 'white' women assumed to be #LGBTQ for #LAWildfires.

Even 'white' cis men are blamed for wildfires (CA Gov Newsom), or smeared during campaigns (SF candidate Aaron Peskin) if they're not the 'right (wing) kind of 'white man'

A different version of 'we lost WWI because of the Jews' narrative.

"Almost immediately, hundreds of individuals began to coordinate a massive city-wide mutual aid effort. People began circulating evacuation information, gathering food, water, toiletries, personal protection equipment, medications, bedding, and other essentials. The mutual aid networks stepping forward during this crisis include medics and therapists offering medical assistance and mental health care to people displaced by the fires. Individual community members have also been taking similar initiatives to support their communities."

Latest from @alissaazar on the mutual aid response to the #LAWildfires.

Severe drought expanded in southern California over the past week, as the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles continue.

The Los Angeles area has seen very dry conditions since the beginning of the water year (Oct. 1, 2024). Water-year-to-date (WYTD) averages are less than 5% of normal, and many cities in the area are seeing their driest start to the WYTD. (1/2)
