Looking at you, #Abbott
PSA for #Android users who also have a #FreestyleLibre CGM.
As a member of Team Pixel, I get updates early. This is a mixed blessing because it means we also get to uncover the bugs.
Since downloading Android 14, my FSL2's connection to the app has been spotty at best. The NFC is fine, but the alarm function is severely reduced (it connects some of the time but mostly it's just "alarms unavailable"). FSL3 may also be affected.
My #FreestyleLibre was briefly able to provide minute-by-minute BG updates on my phone, but I updated my Android this morning and that's now stopped - it keeps showing SIGNAL LOSS and I've had to go back to scanning the thing up-close. Any other #t1d people seeing this?
As a Type 2 on insulin I’m a fan of continuous glucose monitoring.
This changed my decisions/lifestyle in 2 weeks. I can’t cheat. Things I thought helped me control my diabetes actually haven’t and this raises questions about the impact of long covid and other chronic conditions etc.
It’s a fascinating journey shared with my diabetes care team. The monitors each last 14 days and are free* on prescription in the UK to patients diagnosed with diabetes.
FFS, even GitHub app has a Lock Screen widget, but does #freestylelibre ? Nope!
They now have Bluetooth updates so no need to scan, so a Lock Screen widget to show current blood sugar is a no brainier. But sadly not. Shame. #diabetes
