The #Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) has upgraded its website into a comprehensive hub for travel and tourism in North #Cambridgeshire, thanks to over £4,000 of funding from Greater Anglia’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund. The Hereward line, covering #Peterborough, #Whittlesea, #March, #Manea, and #Ely, now benefits from a revamped website featuring drone footage, travel guides, itineraries, interactive and walking/cycling maps. The upgrade aims to inspire sustainable rail-based tourism and make travel planning easier. Wendy Otter from Fenland District Council praised the improvements for promoting local tourism and accessibility, while Greater Anglia’s Scott Dolling highlighted the railway’s commitment to supporting local communities. The fund supports community-led rail projects that bring local and societal benefits across the Greater Anglia network.

Cathedrals and churches I guess need to stay relevant and afford to keep replacing the lead on the roof…

But the idea of a Great Gatsby Ball in #Ely Cathedral at this particular moment in time suggests no one involved gets Fitzgerald’s message that the #AmericanDream of rags to riches glamour was just an illusion. Happiness is not built on wealth.

Made a purchase:

‘Gardening for the Zombie Apocalypse: How to grow your own food when civilisation collapses - or even if it doesn’t’

Some gallows humour to get me re-inspired in the garden.

Tätä tietä ja siltaa ei ehditty hakea museotieksi. Niinpä muinoisen, noin 300 vuotta vanhan tien siltaremppa tehtiin pohtimatta mitään. Harmittaa. Jotenkin sitä toivoisi, että #ely puolella olisi ammattilaisia, miksi kaikki kulttuuriympäristöön liittyvä jää kansalaisaktiivisuuden varaan. #juntit #Pöljä

A teenage #musician from #Ely has become Britain's youngest #composer in history. Patrick #Bennett, who attended and studied music at Ely College, created the music for the second season of #BBC police drama Granite Harbour. The 19-year-old composed the theme tune and score for the series, which is set in #Scotland.
