Oh. This might be the first really useful response from Copilot :)
Opened Github, an MS Copilot was pushed as the very first search field.
Had to ask it this, and one reason was honest enough.
The Drill Down with Ahmad and James is going live in 40 minutes!
Tune in this week for our discussion called "Copilot or Nopilot?" in which we will break down the pros and cons of using Copilot in Microsoft Fabric.
hahaha
The person on my team who had the best #Excel-fu was laid off.
From this man, I had finally internalized that Excel could do actual work beyond storing and displaying stuff. However, I didn't know how to make it do what I needed sometimes. There was a button for #CoPilot. It gave me wrong information *every* time.
So I started searching #YouTube with my work account instead of asking copilot.
And, when I tried to use CoPilot as support for other M365 apps, sometimes it gave me explicit instructions on how to do something that was actually not possible in the current version of whatever app. It would admit the impossibility when I included that it did not seem possible to do what I wanted as part of my query, but *dayum* it was a colossal waste of time.
I asked #Microsoft #Copilot a question about US #tariffs, and it returned results from a page on the website of the 'No Labels' party in the USA.
I asked again, specifying 'Don't use No Labels resources,' yet Copilot returned the same result while withholding the citation link.
I have to explicitly request it to use #Wikipedia to ensure getting information from an unbiased source.
Seems to be the case. For me, it ends at " Sign in to submit nomination". I don't feel like I would want to create an account on #MSGitHub right now.
(How about migrating that process to an actual #openSource platform such as #codeberg by @Codeberg or #sourcehut, or any of the various #freeSoftware #forgejo or #gitlab instances? Extra bonus: No #AI #copilot BS )

"That's right; Microsoft Copilot's weekly user base is only 5% of the number of people who use ChatGPT, and it's not increasing. It's also worth noting that there are approximately 1.5 billion Windows users worldwide, which means just over 1% of them are using Copilot, a tool that's now a Windows default app...."

If Recall is rolling out, I have to assume that anyone I communicate with via Signal A) may have it installed on desktop as well as phone, and B) that computer may have Recall installed; i.e., it's sending screenshots of the chat to Microsoft.
I will be moving my Signal conversations from text to voice note as much as possible. And no more photos of any kind to anyone.
