#Doorsday's child has far to go ... all the way to #Córdoba in fact.

This is a lovely old #door from the Mosque-Cathedral or #Mezquita with details of #MoorishArchitecture. In fact, it's one of the oldest surviving gates of the former mosque! The door's decoration dates back to 855 when it was known as Bab al-Wuzara ("Viziers' Gate"). Lots of Al-Andalus state officials used to enter the mosque here. The Great Mosque of Córdoba was converted into a Catholic #cathedral in the 13th century. It's a World Heritage Site since 1984.

A weathered stone facade, likely part of a historic building such as the Mezquita-Catedral de Córdoba, dominates the frame. The stonework is a light beige, showing significant signs of age and erosion, with varied textures and uneven surfaces. A prominent horseshoe archway, characteristic of Moorish architecture, frames a set of aged, dark metal double doors. The arch is outlined in a lighter stone and features alternating red and white voussoirs. Above the archway, there is a rectangular panel with intricate, though worn, carvings. Flanking the central archway are sections of the stone wall with further decorative elements, including what appear to be blocked-up windows or niches with geometric patterns. The top of the facade is crenellated, with a series of rectangular merlons against a partly cloudy blue sky. The ground in front of the facade is paved with light-coloured stone slabs, showing some signs of wear.

This is in the Fatehpur Sikri Fort (फ़तेहपुर सीकरी फोर्ट) in Uttar Pradesh. I visited in 2022. The fort was built during the second half of the 16th century by Abu'l-Fath Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar.

In 2015, Nepal was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake. Durbar Square in Kathmandu (which is full of temples and palaces and is a Unesco world heritage site) was abdolutely wrecked by the earthquake. I visited in 2022 and there were still buildings that were 100% leveled and buldings that were being propped up to keep them from falling over.

I will always remember all of the religious pilgrims there and the occasional goat staked out next to a temple.

This is an ornate, three-roofed building with power and/or communication lines stretched through the air in front of it. You can see motor bikes in the forground and people going about their day in both the forground and the background.
Centered mostly on the right side of the image, there is what appears to be a european-inspired building. The building is made of brick with stucko over it. The stucko is white but the red/brown brick is very visible where it has fallen off. There are many metal polls in use to hold the walls up.
On the right, in the forground, there is a stone pillar. In the background, there is a wood and stone, multi-story building. You can see shops at the ground level, a religious statue visible through a second story window, and the first of multiple roofs.
