We, as a club, have invested an awful lot of time failing in an attempt to stand still. Even injuries permitting we've actually drifted back.

During our 'dream time' Newcastle, Villa, Chelsea, Bournemouth and now Nottm Forest have been building and developing.

We're not top 6 anymore. Now a reasonable recovery would only have us mid-table. God only knows when we'll see CL again.

And still there are people backing this failed experiment.
I genuinely don't get it.

Morgan Gibbs-White is the player I was hoping was going to be top of the shopping list before the window opened. He is a brilliant talent.

I've felt he'd slot into Angeball ever since I grasped it.

Natural cover for Maddison and he can play the deeper Bissouma role too.

If Danny boy wanted to make an old man very happy all he'd have to do is supply a photo of him wearing the white shirt.

As unlikely as it is to happen I'd love to see us sign Jonathan David after Dominic Solanke, but it does raise a few questions.

Would David be happy to follow Solanke in, with the potential bench-warming connotations?

Would he be prepared to play cup/Europa games and watch Solanki in the PL?

Would it be a huge shove, or at least a hint, to Richy, or would he still see Spurs as "home"?
