As predicted, #Microsoft forced me onto the new, fake #Outlook . Fortunately, I was still able to switch it back to real Outlook. Not sure how long that will keep working.

It is unethical for them to turn on "new" Outlook despite me very recently telling them no.

In other "fuck Microsoft" news, I had to reboot my computer to get Bluetooth working again. Bluetooth toggle was missing and it kept acting like there was nothing wrong. Nothing wrong except my keyboard couldn't connect.

I hate all my operating systems but I really hate #Windows .

Moving relatively simple generic services such as file hosting, buckets etc. is somewhat easy.
A bigger challenge: to get away from the entire #Microsoft environment, the entire #Outlook+Office+Teams+::: package, and such integrated systems.
In #Denmark we are unfortunately very used to it- a dependency/addiction grown over years/decades, which will be harder to undo,

#TroyHunt fell for a #phishing attack on his mailinglist members: troyhunt.com/a-sneaky-phish-ju

Some of the ingredients: #Outlook and its habit of hiding important information from the user and missing #2FA which is phishing-resistant.

Use #FIDO2 with hardware tokens if possible (#Passkeys without FIDO2 HW tokens are NOT phishing-resistant due to the possibility of being able to trick users with credential transfers: arxiv.org/abs/2501.07380) and avoid Outlook (or #Microsoft) whenever possible.

Further learning: it could happen to the best of us! Don't be ashamed, try to minimize risks and be open about your mistakes.

Note: any 2FA is better than no 2FA at all.

Troy Hunt · A Sneaky Phish Just Grabbed my Mailchimp Mailing ListYou know when you're really jet lagged and really tired and the cogs in your head are just moving that little bit too slow? That's me right now, and the penny has just dropped that a Mailchimp phish has grabbed my credentials, logged into my account and exported the mailing

Most of you are probably asking how I am feeling after yesterday.
Unsure if it was via food or air, but the stomach bug I picked up in Indianapolis on Wednesday has totally kicked my arse.
Yesterday I really did not want to eat anything, nor even drink water etc. I was absolutely drained and could hardly keep awake.
So, today after a LOT of sleep I am somewhat improved. Feeling about 40%, mostly awake, and more functional.
As you can imagine I was not able to work at all yesterday, and I hope to do so today, from home.
There are 164 emails in my #FoodBank #Outlook #Inbox that need organising, 104 unread, and I plan to do so this morning.

As I reported, my ordered #PineTab2 was delivered yesterday, and it is absolutely fantastic. The build quality is way superior to what I hoped for.
For a 10.1" tablet, 8GB RAM, 128GB HD, and keyboard I paid $242.99 delivered.
It runs Danctnix, which is KDE Plasma 6 compiled for ARM.
Please ask me questions about this excellent device.

Today is Arianna's last work day of PTO.
It's going to a whole lot warmer, and many of the Spring trees are starting to bloom, so she will be going into photography mode.

Time to dive into work mode as I listen to The Cybertronic Spree concert at The Echo, Los Angeles.
The 80s style beat is certainly helping keep me awake.
