#gmobile 0.2.1 is out 🎉 adding hwdb (or should we call it buttondb 🙃) entries for the #PinePhone Pro, OnePlus 6/6T, Juno Tablets and #bluetooth devices using the AVRCP profile,

(We made this 0.2.1 rather than 0.3.0 to indicate that it's fine to backport to stable releases).

#gmobile 0.2.0 is out 🚀 . This version adds the udev rules and first hwdb entries to mark keys and buttons as not unblanking the screen on press (like volume rockers or menu/back capacitive buttons).

phoc 0.39.0 will make use of this. We moved things into a library rather than phoc itself so other compositors can make use of it too.

@cassidy @mort When running #phosh just add the notch info to #gmobile and you're done.

For fullscreen apps this needs Wayland protocol support. This is work in progress (but the compositor already uses the same info).

A gnome-shell extension could just pick up the same info.

Disclaimer: I’m a Librem 5 user so I don’t have to worry about notches and cutouts at all. I basically wrote the initial notch implementations to make it easier to use phosh on non Linux first devices. It’s also possible that future Librem 5 iterations might use more available screen estate and hence might also have notches so it’s good to be prepared.
