Love this ghost sign painted on a wall beside the entrance to a tenement on West Princes Street in the Woodlands area of Glasgow. It's repeated again on the neighbouring close as well. They're right next to a former military drill hall, and I wonder if the warning is related to its presence. There is a certain irony to having a sign written on a wall which says that writing on walls is not allowed!
The former bonded warehouse for Red Hackle Whisky on Otago Street in Glasgow. Self-styled as 'Scotland's Best Whisky' Red Hackle was established in 1920 by Charles Hepburn and Herbert Ross, two former soldiers and it was named after the distinctive red feather worn by members of the Black Watch. You can just about still make out the words Red Hackle on the faded advertisement for the whisky on the building's gable end.
Old Rely-A-Bell burglar alarm box on Great George Street in the West End of in Glasgow. First created around 1904, Rely-A-Bell burglar alarms were initially manufactured by the London ironmonger Thomas Gunn. It was spun off into its own company, the Rely-a-Bell Burglar and Fire Alarm Company Limited, in 1921. It's believed to be the oldest burglar alarm company in the UK.
Love this old sign on the Art Deco style former Riddrie Cinema on Cumbernauld Road in Glasgow. It's a reminder of it heyday when its facade would have featured neon lights.
Family Department sign on the Ladywell Bar on Duke Street in the East End of Glasgow. Dating from a time when women weren't widely welcome in pubs, the Family Department was where they could buy alcohol for comsumption at home.
A fire hydrant #ghostsign (probably from WW2) on the side of St James's Palace in London.
I came across this threshold ghost sign at the entrance to a shop beside Kelvinhall Subway Station in Glasgow. As far as I can work out, it's for an old department store which used to occupy the site.
Ghost sign on the derelict former District Court building on Turnbull Street in Glasgow. This building is due to be renovated soon, and I do hope this ghost sign will be preserved.

A bit late (it was published last November) but I've only just been sent a copy - one of my Hovis #ghostsign photos was used for the cover of a supplement in The Grocer magazine. The sign is in Catford, London on the junction of Inchmery Road and Sangley Road.
Love this ghost sign. It was recently uncovered and restored as the old Twomax knitwear factory in the Gorbals area of Glasgow was being converted into residential flats. Kudos to the developers for saving it.

84 Buchanan Street in Glasgow. This is part of a group of Classical commercial buildings constructed around 1835 and designed by Robert Foote, the first architectural mentor of Alexander 'Greek' Thomson. The ghost sign on it is for the bookbinding and printing firm McCormick and Company, which was founded by John McCormick in 1890 and survived until 2011.
Possible WW2 #ghostsign near Clapham Junction indicating where sand was kept for extinguishing incendiary bombs.
