I got thinking about "The Tower That Ate People" because of what is turning into my #SnoopListens thread¹ and the only reason I know of this song and really Peter Gabriel's solo work is because this song (quite briefly!) features in RED PLANET, a #ValKilmer film.

People are rightfully gushing about REAL GENIUS and BATMAN and TOP GUN all the other great movies he was in, but I guess RED PLANET is where I'm at right now. Might spin it up for some company as I slog through some more debugging.

I can't find a clip of it online, but there's a bit where the song is playing and Val Kilmer is jamming out doing his "space janitor" thing. It's great.

Overall a really entertaining movie with a star-studded cast and a plot that is stupid, but not TOO stupid.

RIP Val Kilmer.

Val Kilmer passing away at 65 from pneumonia, something known to affect the very very very old and infirm. USA Today did a little write up, not even the slightest mention of the "C" word -- and I'm not talking about Catwoman. We live in the stupidest timeline. #valkilmer

tfw when you hop on here to talk flippantly about the cucumbers you let go bad in the fridge -- and you're greeted with this.

Damn it.

Gone from us too soon, and after more than a decade of health struggle. Fuck cancer.

It's well worth watching his documentary VAL on Netflix. Roger Ebert was right -- he really was the unsung leading man of his generation. RIP Val Kilmer. 😔
