I used a Stihl electric chainsaw for a few hours yesterday and an hour on a petrol one. I reckon make the battery last 50% longer and 30% lighter and it’s game over for petrol ones. Super exciting, they’re so damn stinky.

I do wish Catl or someone would make a standard 36v battery unit that could be used in many devices - a chainsaw battery for instance would be great on a bike or scooter :)

Just woken up to the fact the UK's copper phone network is being completely decommissioned within 2 years. If you want a home phone after then it will need to be digital and going through your broadband router. UK service providers now seem to routinely charge a premium for a home phone number.

Imagine me trying to explain this to my elderly mother who is very set in her ways.

Enshittification is inescapable. I had to order some pricey water filters from GE for my new-ish refrigerator. Wondering where they were, I looked online with my order number and zip, learning then that the zip code didn't match. I’d paid with a credit card that needs the exact address to enable payment, so it was correct when the order was made, but somehow “became enshittified" after I authorized payment. I’m now on interminable hold for the parts department so I don’t need to PAY ANOTHER $178.00 FOR THIS STUPID FUCK UP!!!!!!

I hope your day and money isn’t being wasted by enshittification. The future is so FUCKING stupid. #enshittification #AI #shitshow #TheFuture
