"VENTURA, Calif. (KABC) -- Video shows fire crews in Ventura pull out a Tesla Cybertruck from the bottom of the harbor.

The incident happened Monday morning at the Ventura Harbor.

The fire battalion chief says someone was trying to launch a jet ski when the Cybertruck sank.

The vehicle was completely submerged in the water when crews arrived..."

Your point about consumer protection law is quite interesting.

I haven't checked the U.S. Code. #Tesla seems to take pains to avoid interstate commerce being involved in #TeslaCybertruck sales, if the example contract on its WWW site is any indication. The #Utah state code doesn't have any relevant consumer protections.

In contrast, Schedule 2 Part 1 paragraph 6 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 seems very on point for #UKLaw .

It's not a fine, the actual BI source reveals. It's damages that can be recovered in civil court, *if* #Tesla wins its case.

It's not $50,000 or even "up to" that amount. It's "the amount of $50,000 or the value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater".

It's not a ban on buying #TeslaCybertruck either, it's a refusal to sell to in future. Ironically, xe could still buy from a reseller.
