A few image operations needed for this shortcut aren't available in the #ShortcutsApp but, fortunately, I've been able to implement them in JavaScript and embed them inside the shortcut, so there are no external dependencies

#BarCuts is a #macOS menu bar app that displays #Shortcuts workflows. It allows you to "tag" workflows to an app. When that app is active and in front, BarCuts will show its tagged workflows in a menu. It's pretty nice!

In the simplest terms, this app allows you to manage the on and off status of your Shortcuts Automations while also determining if they should run based on several different conditions. If you are on 1.0x, please backup your data prior to updating, just in case.
An upcoming version of #CongressApp (released before #38c3 with a bit of luck) will allow you to use the “Upcoming sessions" that power the widget in the #ShortcutsApp as well. With this you can for example export all your upcoming favorite URLs, titles or mark all upcoming sessions from a certain room as favorites and much more.

@chirpbirb And I have many more of those: just simple #macos #shortcutsapp I can launch from #Spotlight (being a #vim person I prefer commands to hard to memorize #shortcuts).

A single line of JavaScript to apply a mask (a.k.a. alpha channel) to an image. Although there is a #ShortcutsApp native action to do this, it broke in iOS 18.0 (it applies the mask, but the transparent background becomes black). Thanks to @mvan231 for the heads up
The mask is resized to the size of the image and only the opacity of the mask is used, not the colors.

Someone¹ collected metadata about the #shortcuts in @routinehub back in 2022. I though it would be (my kind of) fun to plot what glyph/symbol people use in their shortcuts and it turns out that:
1) Defaults matter a lot! Many many people don't bother changing the default one
2) It's still too difficult to search for the best glyph for a #shortcut. Apple added a glyph search to the #ShortcutsApp in iOS 16, but the keywords associated with each shape are too specific
I did not realize until today that you could select and copy a series of Shortcut steps from one Shortcut to another using the macOS Shortcuts app UI. That's completely game changing for me. #shortcutsapp #apple

Actions For Obsidian 2024.2.1 is now available for iOS!
This minor release adds a workaround for a bug introduced in iOS 18.0 which would make existing actions which got their note file path from another AFO action ask for a file path, when before they did not.
