Republican support was down from just weeks ago, when 4 #Senate #Republicans joined #Democrats to pass a similar bill to terminate new #tariffs on #Canada. Republicans hold a 53-47 majority.
"The United States Senate cannot be an idle spectator in the #tariff #madness. The #Congress has the #power to set tariffs & regulate global #trade," Sen Ron Wyden (D-OR) said.
Trump on the impact of his tariffs:
“Well, maybe the children will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls. And maybe the two dolls will cost a couple bucks more than they would normally.”
Trump did not campaign on "pay more, have less," but that's the raw deal he is delivering to Americans.
