My trip to the Paris Conference On Open Research information on has just been authorised.

I am very much looking forward to this event, where we will hopefully work together on ways to create a commons of #OpenResearchInformation and identify different ways for researchers and institutions to contribute to it. From low-hanging fruit to big boulders that need to be cleared out of the way.

There is no hashtag for this event, right? @BarcelonaDORI

🔎 New vacancy: PhD position 🎓 Understanding the Global Movement for Open Research Information.

Are you interested in studying the contemporary #OpenResearchInformation landscape and the attempts to challenge current closed forms of research information? We have an exciting PhD position opening up at @cwts.

🕖 Deadline for application is on June 4, 2024 👉 universiteitleiden.nl/vacature

Secret key topic of the #CRIS2024 seems to be funding. How to fund #opensource software, how to fund #openinfrastructures, how to enable a diverse ecosystem for #OpenResearchInformation.

2nd big topic: #AI. There seems to be a consensus that we should not throw AI at everything. Oftentimes other approaches are as effective, but much less power and resource hungry and without all the ethical problems, for example ML for subject indexing (#Annif).
