Since that December ruling, #MarkMeadows has obtained multiple #extensions on his deadline to ask #SCOTUS to review the dispute. In the meantime, the high court’s conservative majority handed down the #immunity ruling earlier this month that said #Trump had at least “presumptive” immunity for any of his *official acts* as president that were targeted in the federal #criminal charges brought by #SpecialCounsel #JackSmith.

…The US #11thCircuit Court of Appeals said last year that the #Georgia prosecution against #MarkMeadows should move forward in #StateCourt, concluding that fmr federal ofcls are not covered by that statute “removing” state cases against govt ofcls to federal court. Chief Judge William Pryor’s opinion for the court also said that “the events giving rise to this #criminal action were not related Meadows’s official duties.”

#Epshteyn, who plans to plead not guilty, is among 18 people charged in #Arizona, including #RudyGiuliani, Trump’s fmr personal lawyer, & #MarkMeadows, the fmr WH chief of staff. The defendants all face 9 #felony counts, related to #fraud, #forgery & #conspiracy.
A total of 51 Trump allies, & #Trump himself, are now facing charges in 5 states related to #ElectionInterference; a number of others have either pleaded guilty or reached cooperation agreements.

Even though #AileenCannon struck the incident about the map, she left a similar allegation said to have occurred a few months earlier. In that episode, prosecutors say #Trump showed a #classified battle plan to people who had come to interview him for a memoir by #MarkMeadows.
“As president I could have declassified it,” Trump said of the battle plan, according to a recording. “Now, I can’t, you know. But this is still a secret.”
