#OpenStreetMap 生誕20周年の年に、ついに Mapbox Vector Tile (MVT) 形式のベクトルタイルもホスティング開始しました！

まだ試験的なホスティングのみのようで、デモサイトで試せます。スタイル調整にはもう少し時間が必要そうですが、デモサイトで使用している日本語の文字フォント(noto_sans)は悪くないです。

これで多言語化も含めて、ユーザーに最適化させたより美しくて使いやすいウェブ地図の民主化が一歩進みました。

次の20年はどんな未来が待っているか楽しみです。

MultiPoints are coming to #Tilemaker

Point features are inefficiently represented in #MVT vector tiles:

There's an easy way out: MultiPoints!

That's why I'm contributing MultiPoint support to Tilemaker, merging multiple compatible points into a single MultiPoint!

has someone ever seen this kind of artifacts with vector tiles generated by ogr2ogr ?
The strangest part is that is it only one some small territories.

I created a small #opensource tool called MVT Companion, that tries to streamline digital forensics using Amnesty Tech's Mobile Verification Toolkit (#mvt).

My little companion app is still very young. It was written as part of my fellowship with Amnesty Tech. The entire process taught me alot about the methodology of digital forensics, as well as the social, human aspect of this work.
