Anyone know what #atproto API call to get basic user info like # followed, # following, # of posts? (preferably using an #rstats package like {atrrr} or {bskyr} or other, or #julialang) I can fetch the actual posts — typically 100 at a time paginated — but I just want total count estimate.

I'm Michael, professor in the institutes of #mathematics and #materials science and head of the @MatMat group at #EPFL.
I work on the #atomistic simulations of materials, mainly density-functional theory (DFT) methods, understanding #simulation errors and #uncertainties in predicted materials properties.
I use techniques from
#physics #computerscience #machinelearning and
develop related #julialang packages such as the density-functional toolkit (#dftk).
I spent yesterday trying to find the best way to plot this very detailed image. Due to its many overlapping lines, regular paper didn't hold up to repeated passes unless I used a ballpoint, which shed ink in a way that I found distracting.
In the end, the best result came from a 0.1mm Rotring Isograph with Black DeAtramentis Document ink on Yupo paper. Amazing detail and tonal gradation. 
"Use physics simulations to create your art," they said. "It will be fun!" they said... 
Really strange how #Rustlang has gotten so popular (vs C++) while #Julialang remains relatively niche (vs Python). In both cases,
- Modern alternative for widely-used legacy language
- Improved type system
- Great performance
- Excellent pkg management
- Easier to reason about
